Summer Day Camp

ARC Summer Day Camp provides children with an opportunity to experience learning at ARC first-hand. As a school community, we value play, curiosity, and experimentation, and support children in building relationships, connecting with nature, and growing 21st-century skills. Taking this play-based, inquiry-driven approach to Summer Camp, our campers will spend the week exploring, creating, and learning.

Our staff are caring and patient and lead with a deep respect for each individual child. They help each child to recognize and push their own boundaries, growing their self-awareness and confidence over time.

ARC Summer Day Camp focuses on nature immersion and creative exploration through art. Campers play and explore outdoors around Manor Park every morning, getting to know various outdoor spaces as they learn about both the natural world and themselves. Afternoons provide them with many opportunities to use their curiosity and creativity to guide them in a variety of process art activities. Team games and collaboration round out our time together and help to create a collaborative camp community.

This July, we offer four weeks of camp:

Animal Adventures (July 2-5): During this 4-day week, we will investigate the world around us using animals as inspiration! We'll create 3D cardboard animals, original art prints, animal masks, and mixed-media fuzzy friends.

Build a Dream House (July 8-12 and 22-26): Create the (cardboard) house of your dreams! Will it have slides instead of stairs? A pool on the roof? A play space in every room? Campers this week will design and build cardboard houses, learn to print wallpaper, and make furniture. They'll also create a miniature playground and dream camper, car, or bike!

Miniature Worlds (July 15-19): Campers this week will design, paint, collage, and sculpt the miniature worlds they envision magical creatures to inhabit: fairy houses, gnome gardens, mermaid lairs, and more! And the week wouldn't be complete without magical potions and glitter slime!
